Barcoding Add-on

(This add-on cost has a one-time, perpetual license cost of $6,180 and an ongoing Upgrade & Support fee of $1,236.)

The FASTER Barcoding Add-on provides the ability to scan and print labels. This module allows for ease of data entry as well as inventory control. It also is beneficial when an in-house numbering system is in use, scanning either the in-house label or the OEM label.

  • Simplifies inventory and intake processes for inventory items and storerooms.
  • Quickly scan incoming inventory with 2D or Symbology – Code 128 barcodes.
  • Reduces data errors that occur with any manual data entry process.
  • Print barcode labels for items, including labels for a range of items simultaneously.

Prerequisites

  • It is important that you have your hardware setup and operating prior to your implementation. The Barcoding add-on does not include hardware, (i.e. scanners and printers).

FASTER customers have used Alpha Systems Site as a source for bar code equipment for more than 10-years and provides the link to Alpha Systems as a courtesy only. FASTER does not receive any monies from Alpha Systems in exchange for referencing them. Also, FASTER does not warranty Alpha Systems product. While we have every reason to believe they are a reputable vendor, please treat them with due diligence as you would any hardware vendor.

Below are compatible products and devices for FASTER Web:

Alpha Systems
4 x 1 Label, TTR, perm adh. 5500/roll

Motorola Symbol Scanner
Motorola Symbol scanner, std range laser (available with or without cord)

Additional Considerations

    • Scan distance – Is affected by the amount of detailed data incorporated into the printed label. So if your part number is a full 27 characters long, the scan distance will be less than for part numbers that have only 6 or 10 characters.
    • Scanner Usage – Tethered (Corded) vs. RF or Wireless (Cordless): These offer different advantages. Keep in mind that when scanning any item the screen cursor must be in the proper field in FASTER. Keyboard actions, such as a TAB, can be pre-programmed into the scanners to streamline data entry.
